I just wish that politicians would heed this wisdom.
If we follow this strategy, we can build discipline that can result in the blessing of the Lord. This makes us rich with no sorrow. It can even lead to a long life where a good man leaves a huge inheritance to his children’s children.
It’s also important to note here that we’re not owners of our material possessions. My mother will always tell me this every time I’m not in my altruistic mode. She’ll always say to me that in the Kingdom of God, we’re just stewards of our wealth. It means that when we have bags of gold, we must be faithful servants. Don’t use it for greedy things. Remember that a camel can easily go through the eye of a needle. However, a rich man who trusts in his abundance of possessions will have difficulty entering God’s Kingdom.
This verse calls us to use our material wealth for good works and good deeds only. It means that we must help poor people and share our riches with others. If we can do this, we’re storing our true riches with God and not to physical banks that can easily close at any time. By avoiding the prosperity gospel trap and focusing only on God’s Word, we can be sure that our wealth serves God’s people. We’re also guaranteed to have eternal life in Christ Jesus.

3. Deuteronomy 8:17-18
“You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”
This verse explains that God won’t drop the wealth into your lap. Instead, He’ll give you the ability to have it. This explains that no matter how hard you pray, God won’t hand you the money that you need. Rather, God will provide it to you through opportunities, ideas, and abilities. That’s why instant material wealth dwindles immediately.
It reminds us that success won’t be from your strength alone, but by the ability that God has given you. But it’s important to note here that wealth isn’t evil. The instant wealth that you may get from the lottery isn’t coming from the devil. Remember that the Bible doesn’t condemn wealth. Rather, it’s against the love of money. Worshipping wealth is the root of all kinds of evil.
The Tool
Money is a tool. It’s our attitude towards it that matters most. When you acknowledge Him as the source of your wealth, it will easily change your view about your finances. You start to see your wealth as a means to bless others and not to indulge. I mean, it’s okay to revel in food, but not overindulge. Instead of overindulging, make sure to use your money to bless others or share it with others who greatly need it to further God’s kingdom. Think of it as God lending you the money so He can fulfill his promise to us.
Going back to the verse, it’s telling us that God doesn’t hand out our wealth directly. Instead, He gives us the talents and skills to produce it. That’s why each of us has talents. They’re unique gifts from God. You may have a unique talent in handling business. Use it not just for your personal satisfaction. Rather, you must utilize it to help you produce more wealth for others.
Your ability to produce wealth also comes from ideas that God has provided. Many businesses today started from a God-given idea. These successful people nurtured and developed the said idea.
Opportunities
In addition to ideas, God also places opportunities in your path. That’s why you must be aware of your surroundings. If you can recognize and seize them, it can surely lead to your financial wealth. To find those opportunities, you need to be attentive. You must always be ready to act. In that way, when an opportunity arises, you know how to handle it.
However, just like what Uncle Ben (Spiderman’s uncle) said, power comes with responsibility. And wealth is also given to us, but we must be responsible when using it. God may have given you blessings. You must be responsible for them. They are given because He trusts that you share them with others. Remember that God’s blessings aren’t designed to stop with us. They’re meant to flow through us by sharing them with those who need them. As stewards of God’s wealth, we’re responsible for handling it wisely. It means that we have to budget, save, and share it.
How to Maintain Our Wealth
4. Proverbs 10:22
“The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.”
This teaches us not to target money accumulation. We must remember that wealth isn’t just about money. The message is how to achieve it and how to use it correctly. But of course, our perception of wealth can be different. It depends on how we were raised. If you were raised in poor conditions, your perception of money is different from the view of, say, Nicola Peltz.
If you grew up in a poor family, you know that it’s not always easy to obtain the money that you need. But as my mother will always say, “God will provide.” She’d just believe that God would, indeed, provide in any way. This is more like manifesting money. That is, if you focus on your goal and are positive that you’ll have it, God will indeed make it come true.
Be Faithful
We can have all the wealth we want, but we need to be faithful to Him. If we’re faithful to Him, He’ll be happy to hand more wealth through us to help more people. God’s blessings aren’t one-dimensional. It’s multi-faceted. The money you’re asking for may not be given to you in the way that you want it to be given. For instance, you may ask God for $100k to pay for your mortgage. The money may not be deposited into your bank account. Rather, God may give it to someone else and hand it to you. It can be your neighbor who will provide you with the money that you need as a way to repay you for your kindness.
And when we receive the wealth that we need, we must thank God and use it wisely. In return, if you have more than enough, don’t stop your wealth within the four walls of your house. Instead, share it with others. Donate your money to charity. Or you can start a community that helps poor people use their talents to earn money.
Align Your Purpose
5. Proverbs 21:21
“Whoever pursues righteousness and loves finds life, prosperity, and honor.”
To seek success and your purpose, don’t chase material things. True abundance is a byproduct of your character and not your material possessions. And to pursue your ambition to be rich, you must align it with God’s ways. When you seek His kingdom first, you’re not looking for earthly riches. Rather, you’ll be looking to have a good foundation where you can store your riches. This kind of storage can withstand any uncertainties in life. This is where unlimited wealth comes in. No matter what circumstances you may face, your wealth won’t dwindle.
Righteousness can bring you a good life and great wealth. It’s not about instant luxury. Rather, it’s all about God’s blessings that can bring peace. As King Solomon reminds us all, a good name is more desirable than great wealth. If you’re rich but you lack righteousness like those corrupt politicians, you’re still considered a poor man. However, if you’re faithful to God and to His people, it can lead to true riches. Thanks to your integrity.
Set Hopes
Since there are no certainties when seeking material possessions, Apostle Paul encouraged us to set our hopes on our Heavenly Father. As a faithful servant of God, use your money for good deeds. That is, you must help other people. God gave you those riches as He knows you’ll put them to good use. But many fall into harmful desires because of their love for money. As mentioned, money isn’t evil. It’s actually our love for it that makes it evil. That’s why when God hands us some money, make sure to use it for good. The treasure you get must align with God’s purpose.
When you invest in good works, you’re laying a great, stable foundation for the coming age. You’re securing internal life with God. Do this, and you find a long time of financial stability. You’ll always have wealth.
Give More
6. Luke 6:38
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
This verse is telling us that if you’re a good person, God will make you a conduit for His blessings. It also tells us that the universe responds to our level of generosity. This is what Rhonda Byrne, the author of The Secret, is telling us. She said that the Law of Attraction responds to your frequency. If you hold onto your money tightly, you’re just emitting a lack frequency that will result in attracting more lack.
But when you give to others, you’re proving to the Universe that you have plenty. You’re also saying, “Here you go, I have plenty, and I have so much that I can afford to share it with you.” No matter what your circumstance is, if you focus on abundance, your mindset will change. That’s why you must claim and act as if you have great wealth.
This connection to Luke 6:38 acknowledges a law of reciprocity. It’s teaching us that when you have a generous heart, it opens the door for all the good things in life. Although many of us desire material wealth, like bags of gold, we must still focus on the wealth that can help us enter the Kingdom of God. It’s not bad to have more than enough money as long as you don’t worship it. Use your wealth to help the poor. Don’t be like those people in the Epstein files.
Seek Wealth to Enter the Kingdom of God
You may seek wealth. There’s no harm in that. But you must seek wealth not for your own sake but to ensure that you’ll enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Even though The Secret focuses mostly on material possessions, you can use the teaching to help you gain wealth to help others. Material wealth is not evil. It’s not the root of evil. But it’s our love and greed that make it evil.
A rich person can still enter the Kingdom of God if he shares his wealth with others. If that rich person doesn’t trust his abundance but only in God’s grace, he still can enter the Kingdom. Of course, it still depends on how he shares his wealth. If his intention is still pure evil, then God will close His Kingdom from him. The key here is your pure intention. If you wish to share, do it without expecting anything in return. Share your blessings with the intention of entering the Kingdom of God. Don’t share your wealth for the sake of human applause. I know a lot of people who do this. And pretty sure you’ve seen a lot of influencers doing it to make their videos viral. Although they share their blessings, the intention isn’t pure. They simply want fame, and that’s not what God wants. You can manifest earthly riches, but make sure to share them to honor God.
Don’t Stop Sharing
7. Proverbs 22:9
“The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.”
This verse teaches us that if you look beyond your earthly possessions and notice the poor man, you’re securing your key to the Kingdom of God. And this is the ultimate way to increase your material wealth. Don’t hoard it. Share what God has given you.
A generous man doesn’t look at the world through the lens of greed. Rather, he looks at the world and sees an opportunity for good works. When you share your blessings with poor people, you’re proving to God that you’re not a slave to your money. You’re testing the fact that money is not the root of all evil. It’s the desire for it.
My mother is one of the most generous people you’d meet. And her generosity is one of the reasons she always has money for her needs and wants. Thus, I can attest to the fact that when you’re generous and you don’t stop sharing, God will continue to give you more. He’ll ensure that you have enough for your needs and an abundance to continue your good deeds. There’s nothing wrong with being rich, as long as you share it with others. But if you hoard it, you will never find true peace. However, God also knows your intention. He knows if you’re only giving or sharing to get more wealth from Him. Remember that He always sees you and your heart. That’s why when you receive blessings, use it to help others so God’s purpose will be fulfilled.
Your money is only true wealth if you use it to bless others with pure intention and not to gain their trust for the upcoming elections. You must give and share your riches to secure your spiritual riches, knowing that Jesus honors people who care for His father’s people.
Be Content
8. Hebrews 13:5
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”
Again, this verse is teaching us that true wealth is found in God. Money is only a tool. The love of money is the root of all evil. When you allow your greed to grow within you, it can lead to your personal, spiritual, and financial ruin. And to ensure that you won’t suffer, you must be content with what you have. Contentment is always the cure to your pride. If you only think about your money and gold, you’ll live in fear. You’ll fear that someone will steal it from you. You’ll also fear that you will lose it. Thus, you desire to have more, so you won’t lose any. But not sharing will stop you from getting more. It blocks you from entering God’s Kingdom.
You need to be content with God’s blessings. But it doesn’t mean that you must be lazy. The Bible doesn’t say that you stop working hard. Instead, you work harder to ensure that God’s purpose will be fulfilled. The main goal is always to honor God and not the money that you have.
Contentment
Contentment in this verse means that you’re satisfied with what you have and trusting God to bless you more to serve others. When you practice contentment, you can stop trying to impress people you don’t like. Instead, you start focusing on how to improve your spiritual riches. When you’re not distracted by greed, you can focus on doing more good deeds to honor God. Contentment will also help you realize that God is more than enough. He is your asset. When you have Him, anything is possible.
When you have a contented heart, you can stop chasing sudden wealth or dishonest money. It means that you don’t have to engage in activities that will force you to earn money from doing bad things. That’s why the Law of Attraction teaches us to focus on abundance, not just material possessions but all the blessings that God has given us. When you’re contented, you can live in peace.
To attract more wealth, you need to be content with what you have. Be grateful for God’s blessings. This will save you from becoming a slave to material wealth. God will make you His faithful servant and give you more blessings, as you’ve proven yourself that you don’t treat money or material wealth as your master. When you use your wealth for good deeds, you’ll soon find yourself in good land. It’s a place where you can find peace and stay in the presence of God.
Learn to be Content
9. Philippians 4:11
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”
This verse teaches us that true wealth is not about having billions of dollars in your bank account. Rather, it’s about the true state of your soul. In order to realize that you have true wealth, you need to be content with what you have. Unfortunately, contentment isn’t a natural instinct. Rather, it’s a learned skill. The verse is actually a letter from the Apostle Paul while he was in a prison cell. He said that he has learned to be content regardless of his circumstances. He understood that material wealth isn’t the source of life. Paul’s heart seeks for God’s Kingdom and not the material things.
He was content with daily bread because he knew that it came from God.
But in our world today, it’s hard to practice it. When we get what we wish for, we still want more. We want more clothes, more jewelry, a new car or iPhone (or Mac), etc. Even if you have more than enough in your bank, you still want to win that lottery. But Paul warns us that if you crave more, you’ll fall into evil ways. You’ll be tempted to engage in evil activities because you know you have a lot.
Without contentment, you continue to crave. It’s like what happened to my friend who lost a lot of money in Forex trading. When she made around $50, she invested more. She won more money. Even though she has reached her goal of $1,000, she traded more. But the market turned. She lost more than $1,000. Contentment was supposed to be her “stop-loss” order.
Again, there’s nothing wrong with wanting more. But if you’re not grateful and contented with what you have, you’ll soon find your finances in ruin.
God’s Purpose
Wealth in the Bible teaches us that we’re only stewards of God’s wealth. It’s not ours to hoard. Rather, it’s ours to share it when we find it. In that case, you must reject the appeal of sudden wealth and dishonest money. To find true wealth, you must first pursue righteousness. Then, if God has given you riches, make sure to share them. Most of all, be grateful and be content with what you have. In that way, you won’t be tempted to use your material wealth for evil things.
