Background
First, it’s important to mention that English translations of the Bible do not have the word rapture simply because it does not have English origins. See, the word rapture comes from the Latin word raptus, which means “carrying off,” “snatching away,” or “seizure.” The Greek word for rapture, harpazo, also conveys the same meaning.
Whereas the word rapture does not appear in the Bible, severally, it teaches the concept/ doctrine of the rapture. The rapture of the church describes the end times event that ushers the second coming of Jesus Christ, where believers will meet Jesus in the air, starting with those who died in the faith at the loud voice of an archangel with the trumpet of God (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17/ 1 Corinthians 15:50-54).
