This confession of our hope reveals the kind of real hope that goes beyond the circumstances. His sense of optimism wasn’t from a change of fortune. Rather, it was in the steadfast love and unchanging character of God.
His story echoes the book of Hebrews’ reminder that:
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for.”
